The Idea

Hi, I’m Amy. I’ve always been an ambassador for what’s happening in Saskatchewan. The first time I gave a speech in college I chose to talk about all the amazing things people should know about my home province. From Bunnyhugs to the Bessburough it’s a wonderful place to call home.

I’m a copywriter who’s spent 10 years in the deadline-driven broadcast media industry. I recently moved back to Saskatchewan after 8 years in Alberta. Saskatchewan has gone through some major changes since I left, but change is good and I can’t wait to see more of it up close.

How Do Sask came to be:

While living in Calgary, I met my now-husband Chris between working a full-time job in media and finishing my full-time communications degree. Chris was working two different jobs 7 days a week and later crazy overtime with on-call shifts while studying to get his red seal electrician’s ticket, so we were very short on time and money. Our relationship blossomed because I took time planning dates that were memorable, meaningful, unique, and super affordable.

I asked everyone I met for ideas on what to do, brainstormed how to do them, and DID them.

Fast forward a few years and our lives have been moving quicker than a NASCAR race – we left jobs, got married, moved to Saskatchewan, started new jobs, went on our honeymoon, started spending more time with my families and our regular dating life got pushed onto the back burner.
Obviously this is no way to keep the relationship spark alive.
Do Sask was born from a desire to reignite the flame.
